Word is Michael Rapaport (whom you may remember from such projects as Boston Public, Beautiful Girls or True Romance, but whom we remember from that ill-advised Woody Allen vehicle, Small Time Crooks, in which he spends most of his time wearing a hard hat with the head lamp pointing backwards) is developing a new series for CBS in which he'll star as a New York social worker.
Apparently, Basketball Diaries writer Bryan Golubuff is on board to pen the drama so we're feeling like it might be interesting. Our feeling is, we kind of love The Mentalist right now, so it's easy to feel generally optimistic about CBS programming endeavors at the moment. Also, Denis Leary is executive producing with Rapaport and Golubuff so we're sure some irreverance will work it's way in somehow.
