Position Description:
The VP of Sales will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for managing and maintaining pre-existing accounts, generating new sales leads and opportunities, developing new agency and client relationships, preparing and presenting proposals, closing business and hitting sales goals. This is a performance-focused environment and we reward great talent. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, experienced sales person with the abilities to further develop and help grow our sales revenue. They will have a strong understanding of the Hooksexup Media brand and its readership and advertising market and they will be well connected within the advertising industry.

Requirements:
• A minimum of 3-5 years of advertising sales experience (print or online, preferably online)
• Preexisting relationships with media buying agencies and clients
• Advanced skills in handling multiple opportunities at once, making sales calls, creating marketing materials, analyzing data, traffic and inventory, setting and meeting goals, time management, negotiating, problem solving and decision making,
• Strong communication, written, management and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized, self-motivated, ability to work independently but take direction when required, results-driven, responsible and gets along easily with others
• Ability and willingness to travel in order to land business
• Proven success in initiating and maintaining sales relationships and closing business, building a solid client base and meeting and exceeding goals.

Compensation: Base salary and commissions, Competitive

Advertising Account Manager

Hooksexup Media, the award-winning online media company and publisher of hooksexup.com and Babble.com, is seeking a highly motivated Advertising Account Manager.

• Complete understanding of and confidence in handling RFP’s, creating marketing materials, making sales calls and presentations and analyzing traffic and inventory
• Strong communication, management and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized, proactive, results-driven, responsible and gets along easily with others
• Proven success in initiating new sales relationships, building a solid client base and meeting and exceeding goals.

Compensation: Base salary: $60,000 to $95,000, depending on experience plus commissions and benefits. Target compensation: $150k+

Hooksexup is looking for exceptional photographers with a distinguished, tasteful and saucy set of eyes to be guest photo bloggers.

Position Description:
Guest photo bloggers will blog on hooksexup.com's new guest photo blog section for one month starting in 2009. This new section will act as a revolving door for talent and to showcase various visual points of view.

Requirements:
You must be an active blogger with a variety of fresh, engaging, and refined variety of subject matter.

Photo Intern

About the internship
As a Hooksexup photo intern, you will help with all aspects of editorial production for the online magazine: researching new talent, calling in books, editing and formatting images, organizing the archives and photo library, brainstorming future story ideas, and organizing shoots. The position is hands-on, and is a good entry to the photo editorial world.

Who we're looking for
College students and recent graduates who can work two full days a week in our Manhattan office. Applicants should be psyched about hooksexup.com, and the subject matter we cover: sex, relationships and culture. Our original, edgy coverage of photography, film, books, TV and music receives half a million unique readers per month.

You are interested in photo editing, and are plugged into the photo scene. Ideally, you're a photographer yourself. You're well rounded — you can appreciate Vice and Suicide Girls, but you also hit the gallery scene.

Stipend
This is an unpaid internship.

Editorial Interns

About the internship
As a Hooksexup intern, you'll have opportunities to write for the site and participate in editorial meetings. You'll also get a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how a web magazine comes together. And your friends will think you have the best job ever. Of course, you will also do your share of grunt-work: research, office organization, buying caffeinated beverages. But we promise to take you out drinking at least once.

Who we're looking for
College students and recent graduates who can work 2-3 full days a week in our Manhattan office for a minimum of four months. We want you to be into Hooksexup as well as the subjects we cover: sex, culture, music, film, art, journalism, and literature. If you're creative, self-motivated, and professional, all the better.

Stipend
$200-300 a month (depending on time commitment) and unlimited espresso.
