These Are Shoes?

I mean, I guess if you use the definition "things you can wear on your feet," these are shoes. But just barely. According to the designer:

"I'm interested in designing objects that ignore or challenge conventions in order to make the product-design world less generic. I rethink what an object can look like or how it can function. There can be more to clothes."
