Study: Masturbating cures Restless Leg Syndrome
By Libby RumeltApril 1st, 2011, 12:15 pmComments (5)Do you suffer from restless leg syndrome? Restless anything syndrome? Here's a tip, straight from hard-working Brazilian scientists: masturbate. Or get laid. As long as either act results in an orgasm, it's all good.
The science behind this research has to do with the release of dopamine. Like Parkinson's Disease, a lack of the hormone is thought to be the cause of RLS. Since dopamine is what activates pleasure in the brain, it makes sense that having an orgasm is the best way to give yourself an instant high. Most medications used to control RLS already contain dopamine, so masturbating won't just relieve your restless legs, it will save you hundreds on prescription meds.
Although scientists only mention men in their report, out this month in Sleep Science, I feel pretty comfortable recommending this holistic cure for women as well. And I don't even have RLS — just a miraculous ability to sleep through the night. Wonder what that's all about.

However, this may be somewhat awkward on international flights and long bus rides.
Wonderful news. Is there anything sex can't do?
Yeah, unless too much masturbation can also cause it, because mine sure as hell isn't going away.
Restless leg syndrome is something I wouldn't mind having if that's the cure! But at the rate I'm going, I doubt very much that I'll ever get it!
