Arcade Fire, Black Keys, Vampire Weekend lead surprisingly tolerable Grammy nominees list
By Brian FairbanksDecember 2nd, 2010, 1:33 pmComments (1)Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Vampire Weekend, Broken Bells, Band of Horses and Kings of Leon are among the nominees for the year's Grammy Awards, which are apparently still happening.
In less appealing news, Lady Gaga was also nominated for Album Of The Year (which she will win) and Justin Bieber was nominated for Best New Artist, three words that should never be in the same sentence as his name.
(Bieber, by the way, faces off against Mumford & Sons and Florence And The Machine.)
Here are the ones you wanted to know about:
Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals: Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Jeff Beck & Joss Stone, Kings of Leon, Muse.
Album Of The Year: The Suburbs by Arcade Fire, Recovery by Eminem, Need You Now by Lady Antebellum, The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga, Teenage Dream by Katy Perry.
There's plenty more where that came from.
Also, "Empire State of Mind" is up against "Fuck You" for Record of the Year. Wonder how they're going to read "Fuck You," which is also among the Song of The Year choices, during the live broadcast... "bleep you"? "F you"?
