Tupac performed at Coachella this weekend, despite being dead
By Virginia SmithApril 16th, 2012, 5:50 pmComments (3)In case you missed it, Tupac Shakur, who has been dead since 1996, gave a much-hyped performance at Coachella this past weekend. Like most performances by holograms of the deceased, it was cool but also pretty weird.
After a couple minutes to himself, hologram Tupac was joined by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre onstage for the end of their set. Bathed in a faint, hologram-y ghost-y glow, he yelled "What up, Coachella?" to the 100,000 audience members then launched into performances of "Hail Mary" and "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted."
The whole project, which likely cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, was Dr. Dre's "vision" for the night, and was reportedly months in the making. There's video of the set below, but in case you want to further connect to the semi-resurrected rapper, Hologram Tupac also has his own Twitter feed. Of course.
Clearly, the next best step is to sit back and quietly wait for Hologram Biggie and Hologram Michael Jackson to materialize, thus ridding us of the need for outdated acts that are "new" and "still living."

The request for Keith Moon for the Olympics doesn't seem so silly now, does it?
