MTV announced today that their iconic '90s cartoon Beavis and Butthead will be coming back with all new episodes, though there was no exact date set for the return. Creator Mike Judge — who was also responsible for King of the Hill and Office Space — will also be coming back, and thank God, because it is easy to imagine the kind of train wreck this show could become without a reliable hand to guide it.
But that's not even the most exciting news, sort of! Because MTV is also using the show as an opportunity to "sneak" music videos back into their programming, which they've abandoned in the past few years. Actually... Let me rephrase: I want that to be the most exciting news. But I don't know; will it even matter if they start slipping in a handful of videos into a cartoon? Does it matter if MTV plays videos at all? Isn't that what YouTube is for?
But back to the matter at hand: Beavis and Butthead is coming back! And while I was never a huge fan of the show, I would gladly watch that if it meant I would never have to hear about another spin-off of The Hills.
Readers, given the recent trend of reviving beloved-but-canceled cartoon series, what show would you want to see come back? My first choice would be Daria. (But my secret first choice would be none, because I'm always scared these things will be ruined.)
