Anderson Cooper in talks for his own daytime talk show

anderson cooper

Anderson Cooper is in "deep talks" with Warner Brothers and Telepictures Productions to host a daytime talk show. Right now, the two television companies are are shopping the idea around to different local affiliates and working up potential interest. Warner Brothers would like to remind us that Oprah is leaving her station in 2012, leaving a void in the daytime talk landscape, that Cooper would be perfect to fill. (Sidenote: Cooper and Oprah are longstanding  BFFs.)

But how will this affect his CNN show, Anderson Cooper 360°? (Or as I like to call it, Anderson Cooper, Handsome Person). Worry not: Cooper just renewed his contract with CNN. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new show "is billed as a topical format that will cover everything from celebrities and pop culture to social issues and wide-interest news stories" and "will include hidden-camera experiments and town-hall meetings, with a focus aimed at appealing to female viewers."

If you're asking yourself what this accredited newsman is doing rolling in the dirt with hidden-camera experiments, let me remind you that he hosted The Mole in 2000. Then again, he rescued an injured Haitian boy from looters and mass hysteria this year. The man has many skills. And he's much more interesting to watch than Regis, Kelly and let's say Hoda, too, combined:

Do you think his first guest is going to be Richard Gere, or Tom Cruise, or Brad Pitt, or Zac Efron?
