James Cameron Swears That Avatar is Getting Made

Do you guys remember when James Cameron used to make science fiction cinema that wasn’t only satisfyingly pulpy but also genuinely great filmmaking? Sure you do! Aliens, Terminator, and The Abyss were a long time ago though. It looks like Cameron’s finally coming home. In an email to Harry “My Beard Terrifies Children” Knowles, Cameron said that he’s wrapped principal photography for his long gestating sci-fi epic Avatar and is starting the painstaking process of creating believable, 3D world out of CG. Avatar’s still a long way off but from what little Cameron’s revealed about the picture over the years it might just revolutionize special effects to the same extent that his classic films did. Welcome back, Jim!
