Celebrities, as the grocery check-out magazines are fond of reminding us, are just like everybody else. They go to the bathroom, they have babies, they wear shabby-looking sweatpants to go to the store, and, aside from making millions of dollars for doing practically nothing and having their faces recognized by everyone on the planet, they're exactly like you and me.
Which means that they also believe lots of crackpot conspiracy theories.
A photo feature in yesterday's Los Angeles Times takes us on a walking tour of some of the beautiful peoples' most beloved kooky beliefs, from Oscar winner Marion Cotillard's skepticism about the moon landing and Kanye West's belief that the US government engineered AIDS to Tom Cruise's well-publicized beliefs about psychiatry and medication. The inclusion of Dennis Kucinich as a 'celebrity' is a bit tenuous, and we can't understand the omission of everything Tori Amos has ever said, but if you need a brief primer in who's nuts in Hollywood, you could do worse.
