This month is Kubrick Month on the UK's Channel Four, and in honor of the late director (who did much of his best work in England), their advertising department has created a rather impressive way to introduce viewers to him: by literally putting them in the director's chair.
Channel Four took great pains to recreate the backstage feel of
The Shining: aside from the near-perfect duplication of the Outlook Hotel, the network hired actors who highly resemble Kubrick's 1980 cast and crew, produced mock-ups of the props and equipment, and chose to do the promo as a continuous tracking shot in duplication of some of the movie's most memorable scenes.
