Hey kids, have you heard about this new summer series NBC thunked up? It's called "The Olympics" and it's set in China and it premieres this weekend and it's all about how sports can bring the world together if the Maoists don't murder freedom first!
Anyway, check it out: even if you don't have access to a TV with the NBC on it -- let's say at work or something -- you can still sneak a peek! Here's how:
On their website, Wired magazine has a How-To Wiki on how to watch the Olympics online. Turns out more than just NBC and its sister networks are providing online coverage of the event. For example, YouTube will be providing about three hours of coverage each day (none live) to a number of countries (not ours). CCTVOlympics.com will be supplying 5,000 hours of coverage for mainland China and Macau. BBC Sports and Australia's Yahoo7 will be supplying live stream coverage of the events.
Now, there's a trick to using these sites, since technically speaking, US computers have been blocked from getting the signals. Hey, wait a second...
