So, it's not for an acting role (at least, we don't think so), Punk'd kingpin and groom of Demi, Ashton Kutcher, is really coaching high school football. At first we were like, "Okay sure, whatever he wants to do." Then, we read his quotes and we got sort of weirded out...
"Though coaching a football team is no great step for mankind, I'm finding that it's a great step for me."
Okay first of all, high school football coaches change lives, Ashton. Haven't you ever seen Friday Night Lights?
"I was afraid that I would look stupid. I was afraid that the players wouldn't listen to my football advice. I was afraid that the advice that I gave wouldn't be very good."
We didn't think of it right away, but it would be pretty weird to be on a high school football team and find out that your new coach is the guy from Dude, Where's My Car. True, maybe the kids would eventually be one over by Ashton's stellar football strategy and generally caring attitude (assuming he actually has those things), but we're just saying, the first few days would be brutal.
And finally,
"I'm not there to teach them. They are there to teach me."
Hmmmm. Well, fair enough we suppose. But, putting it that way seems oddly self-absorbed. Do you make them carry your lunch tray to the teacher's lounge too?
