But how? . . .
Well apparently, the Friday timeslot is actually working for these two shows. The first week’s DVR data is in, and the timeshifted audiences improved both shows ratings. Dollhouse’s pilot apparently gained an additional 30% of viewers. And Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles gained 36%. That’s huge.
Although the second and third weeks’ numbers will tell us more, it’s hard to cancel any show with that kind of an audience spike.
We’re kind of glad that neither of show will be getting the boot in the near future. There’s a soft spot in our hearts for these Friday night sci-fi shows with their ass-kicking lady leads and their weird sexual themes.
We’re happy we’ll get to see if Summer Glau’s robot seduction will ever work on little John Connor (our bet: abso-robo-lutely). And we’ll find out whether Eliza Dushku ever escapes the shackles of that brainwashing hooker ring. We hope so.
