Chelsea Handler vs. Tori Spelling Is A Real Mismatch [VIDEO]

Posted by Jake Kalish

At Bravo's A-List awards Tori Spelling went out of her way to thank Chelsea Handler for constantly making fun of her. In response, Chelsea Handler continued to make fun of her. And if you've never seen Chelsea Handler make fun of Tori Spelling, it's mean. And funny. Like Chelsea Handler.

Here's the report on what Tori said, from E! Online:

Tori actually thanked Chelsea Handler in her acceptance speech last night at Bravo's A-List Awards for constantly being mean to her on Chelsea Lately.

"I want to thank you for finding ways to say I'm ugly and stupid, week after week," said Spelling, who picked up the award for Celebrity Autobiography. "It's funny I say that on the night that I know she is here. And now I'm worried to leave, because I don't know if she's going to hold me down and beat me up or try to feed me a sandwich."

That's kind of almost funny, Tori Spelling. But then Handler received her Bravo A-List funny award and said this:

I'm a little full right now. I just ate Tori Spelling. I want to thank her for being able to take a joke. I'm going to try my hardest not to tell her she looks like a man anymore. It's not nice. Even if it's true, it's not nice.

Nope, not nice. But funny. Score one for Spelling, unless this is a politeness competition. In which case, reverse that. Tori's writers apparently only had that one half-joke, because then Tori Spelling just went insincere:

"You know what? I think Chelsea's cool," Spelling said at the awards afterparty at the Edison in downtown L.A. "I think she's really funny. But at the end of the day, it's like if she's always trashing me, then there's got to be some reason that I'm newsworthy…As long as she's funny about it, that's cool."

Yeah, we're sure you think it's really cool. Thing is, Tori's not exaggerating: Chelsea Handler really does make fun of her constantly. Check out this monologue:

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
