"American Idol": Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson Perform Tonight

Posted by Lindy Parker

Tonight marks the return of Jennifer Hudson in her first Idol appearance since she was voted off in season 3, and we are thrilled.  We love J.Hud anytime, anywhere.  Miley Cyrus is also scheduled to perform, and it seems Miley's presence could put a little wind back into one particular contestant's sails...

According to Twitter, Miley loves her some Allison Iraheta...

Just did ‘Idol’ and met Allison! Vote for Allison she rocks!!!! (Twitter)

Perhaps Miley's support will encourage fans to vote and keep Allison out of the bottom three for a while -- let's face it, Kris should definitely go first.  In addition to spreading the Allison love, Miley wants to assure fans that her Idol performance may be pre-recorded, but that doesn't make her Ashlee Simpson...

Just FYI ‘Idol’ was pretaped because everrryy performer is pretaped on elimination night, that doesn’t mean it’s fake! I sang live 100% xoxoxo (Twitter)

Fair enough, Miles.  By the way, since we've spent the last half an hour scouring MC's twitter for Idol updates, we've become weirdly obsessed with her updates -- every now and then, we hit a gem.

About Lindy Parker

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She now writes for hooksexup.com's TV blog, "The Remote Island." She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
