Reader Feedback on "Hot Fuzz"
And the geek shall inherit the earth... Nice article, it's cool to see that these guys aren't as obtuse as their lyrics would lead you to believe. Funny thing about the previous comment: We moved from L.A. to Albuquerque when I was eight years old, and lived there for four years. This was in the mid-1970's when ABQ was supposedly at it's peak of criminal activity -- and yet, for a kid from L.A., it was basically paradise. It always kinda cracks me up when someone says something like, "Yeah, man, I lived in the really *bad* part of Des Moines." I mean, come on -- I'm from fucking L.A.

Last I knew "the Duke City" was the Murder Capital of America but that was only back in the Seventies. I lived there for five years back in the early Nineties. Any allusion to that period is merely nostalghia. A certain desire to seem dangerous. Albuquerque is mostly LA without the annoying references to Paris Hilton, just the malls and highways. And Hollywood.
