Brett Ratner To Direct "Not Your Grandfather's 'Snow White'"

Thank god, I don't even think my grandpa knew what Snow White was. (He was too busy fighting things - a real MAN'S MAN.) But yes, Brett Ranter of Rush Hour and the third X-Men thing is set to direct a 3-D re-imagining of the Disney classic/dark, dark The Brothers Grimm tale, Snow White. Because if every other director can stretch their legs and make a ok-successful 3-D fairy tale, why can't Brett Ratner? Brett Ratner can do anything you can do, only funnier and more awesome and with more kicks, such is his plan with Snow White:

This is not your grandfather's Snow White," Ratner said. "Melisa went back to the 500 year old folk tale and put in some of the things that were missing from Walt Disney's film. His dwarves were miners, and here they are robbers. There is also a dragon that was in the original folk tale. Walt made one of the great movies of all time, but ours is edgy and there is more comedy. The original, made for its time, was soft compared to what we're going to do.

Is it awful I'm kind of excited for this? When Tim Burton or Robert Zemeckis update a classic fairy tale, it's going to have some modicum of class. But when Brett Ratner updates a classic fairy tale, everyone in that fairytale is going to have tattoos.
