I once had a foot reflexology treatment that promised to work out the toxins in my body as well as years of built-up stress and mental and physical pain. I'm not sure about the toxins, or the stress and mental anguish for that matter, but I can attest to the release of some of the tension in my body. I'm not going to lie though, the treatment hurt like a bitch. It lasted for an hour and I'd say I was in tears for nearly half that time while sensitive pressure points all over my feet were rubbed and manipulated. But when it was over, I felt lighter somehow—more relaxed.
Now I've got my eye on this river rug mat. It's made of real river rocks and I'm imagining using it as a bath mat to massage my feet every time I step out of the shower. It may not make me cry for half an hour, but who knows—maybe it'll release some of my tension just the same.
