Well, it looks like my plan worked. As I said last week, I was going to start making the game a little harder, and judging by how few of you were able to identify the final line of Orson Welles' F For Fake (Vérités et Mensonges), I guess I succeeded. Still, I hope the fact that more of you didn't recognize the quote doesn't mean you haven't seen the movie, since it's a blast. F for Fake is not, as some people maintain, Welles' last completed film — that would be 1978's Filming "Othello", but it's nonetheless the closest Welles ever came to a summation of his career and life's work. On top of that, it's just a lot of fun, with Welles digging into his fascination with hoaxes and sleight-of-hand, and creating a film which was as vital and lively as any he made — no mean feat considering he was pushing sixty at the time. Congrats to the few who guessed it.
And now for this week's quiz, this time another two-line exchange:
"Where do you want to go?"
"Wherever you want to take me."
Awww. . . isn't that romantic? But what movie does it come from? Submit your guesses to . Remember, the rules of the game can be found here, and all guesses must be received by 11:59 PM next Wednesday. Good luck!
