This past week we wrote about singing pills. And that got us thinking about our favorite television puppets. Aside from the obvious -- Kermie, Fozzie, Henrietta Pussycat from Mr. Rogers, and Gary Gnu of The Great Space Coaster.
But, in the end, our shout-out had to go to Beaker from The Muppet Show. Maybe it was the fact that, with all of the brilliant, unbelievable puppeteers Jim Henson employed, Beaker looked like he was made by a drunk teenager without artistic talent. Which made him funnier, in a South Park-y way. Maybe it was the fact that he just said "meep" and freaked out. Look, evaluating puppets is not an exact science. But just take a look at The Great One singing Ode To Joy and Feelings and tell us you don't love him too.
