"Jon and Kate Plus 8": Say It Ain't So, Jon

Posted by Lindy Parker

Say it ain't so...

The new issue of Us Weekly has shocking, exclusive pictures of the Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad leaving a club at 2 a.m. -- with a mystery woman and without his wedding band.Jon Gosselin arrived at the club at 11:20 p.m. and by 2 a.m. "could barely walk" as he exited the less-public back entrance of Legends Lounge -- near the family's $1.3-million home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania -- on April 18, a fellow partier tells Us Weekly.

The dad of 8 was overheard yelling, "Hey, babe! Babe! Give me my jacket!" before climbing into his Nissan Nismo. (She complied.) As cameras began snapping...

...he panicked, urging his female friend to "get in the car!" before speeding off hastily -- without even turning on the headlights.  Where was his wife Kate -- known for her insults and who famously once berated him for breathing on the show?  Nearly 2,000 miles away, promoting her book Eight Little Faces in Bellevue, Washington. (Us Weekly)

Despite the fact that this story is only the latest in the string of recurring rumors about his infidelity, Jon Gosselin is sticking to his story that it, in fact, ain't so...

"I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car," he says. "Yes, I have female friends -- but that is all she is. I'm not going to end my friendships just because I'm on TV." (Us Weekly)

We're kind of with him on this -- the evidence is nowhere near conclusive.  First of all, her name could be "Babe."  Really, we knew a girl in college.  Second, we'd like to think that if we were 32 and had eight children, we'd still work in a night out with friends every once in a while.  Also, how could a person possibly carry on a clandestine affair whilst filming a reality show?  Not possible.  We'll say this though, if it turns out Jon is cheating, that's going to make the upcoming season of Jon and Kate Plus 8 super uncomfortable.

I never condone cheating, but with Jon?  At least we'd understand

About Lindy Parker

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She now writes for hooksexup.com's TV blog, "The Remote Island." She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
