Can this dude cover an early Michael Jackson song? Well sure. Technically, anyone can cover a Michael Jackson song. But this particular dude rocked “Billy Jean” last night, and managed to turn an old tune inside-out, while simultaneously injecting a spark of life into this season’s lethargic American Idol snooze-fest. Check out David Cook’s performance from the March 25 Idol after the jump…plus: Kristy Lee Cook finally chose the right song! Apparently the contestants were challenged to take a song from the year they were born that inspired them…and sing it. And Dave Cook did:
