The umbrella is an imperfect design. Whether it’s only keeping the top of your head dry, or blowing out from a gale force wind, there’s not a lot you can say other than the l’il guy could use a few improvements.
We recently saw the totally stupid looking Nubrella, which addressed the first concern by encasing you in a full body umbrella.
Senz Storm Proof Umbrellas, on the other hand, address the “blow-out” problem with class. The Senz was developed by a made-up sounding person by the name of Gerwin Hoogendoorn, after becoming frustrated by having his umbrella blow out too many times. The Senz, by contrast, is nigh indestructible, and able to stand up to 70mph winds.
In addition, given that the back is larger than the front, you can solve the “how do you keep two people dry under an umbrella” problem by forming an impromptu conga line.
There are two versions, one that can survive 40mph winds, and one that can survive 70mph winds. Though, for $6 more, why wouldn’t you go for the additional 30mph?
