So, how'd you like that quote last week? Sounded pretty heroic, didn't it? Well, you wouldn't be saying that if you heard it in its natural context, as the final line of Werner Herzog's 1979 film Nosferatu the Vampyre. Herzog's film, simultaneously the most beautiful and the bleakest of vampire movies, features Klaus Kinski as the bloodsucker of the title, along with Isabelle Adjani at her most ravishing, which as you all know is saying something. But that final line is spoken by none other than Bruno Ganz, later best known as the self-sacrificing angel in Wings of Desire, and later still as cinema's most famous Hitler in Downfall. In many ways, he's the central character of Nosferatu the Vampyre, but when he rides off at the end, let's just say he's not off to do the Lord's work. Congrats to the handful of you who guessed it.
This week, the final quote of the round... or is it? Still a close race for the three prizes, so let's see if we can whittle down the contenders. Here's the quote:
“Oh, you don’t know how good it is to hear my family laughing again. You know, for a while there I was really worried.”
Name the film. Submit your guesses to no later than 11:59 PM Eastern on Wednesday. As always, you can find the rules by clicking here. Good luck!
