Morning Deal Report: Neeson and Fiennes Release the Kraken

Posted by Scott Von Doviak

“Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes will play warring gods in Warner Bros. and Legendary's Clash of the Titans, the Greek-god epic directed by Louis Leterrier,” per The Hollywood Reporter. It will be Neeson as Zeus and Fiennes as Hades in the remake of the 1981 epic, and as THR reminds us, “The deal marks Neeson's first since the tragic death of his wife, Natasha Richardson. “

David O. Russell is suddenly a busy guy. We already told you about his in-the-works adaptation of The Silver Linings Playbook, and now Russell is set to take on the romantic comedy Aaron and Sarah. “Story centers on a nerdy guy and a popular girl who meet as freshmen and, over four years of high school, four proms and one funeral, become friends and eventually fall in love,” Variety reports.

Race to Witch Mountain director Andy Fickman has signed to direct You Again for Disney. “Written by Moe Jelline, the story follows one young woman who finds out her brother is marrying the girl who made her high school years a living hell and then tries to find a way to show her brother the fiancee's true colors.”
