Men want her and women want to be her. Neko Case is a woman you can't help but like, and the ~~former~~ front woman for the New Pornographers is beautiful with her firey red hair and pale skin. At first we had a hard time believing Case was a 10, but we have it on very good authority (a friend who works in the music industry) that she is. And we like it.

Without the T&A we all love so much, Nigella Lawson could probably squeeze that little waist of hers into a size 6. But we would hate for that to happen. Not only is she gorgeous, Lawson has gone through so much shit in her life (she lost her mother, her sister and her first husband to cancer) yet still manages to make sure we all eat enough chocolate.

We have to bow at the feet of Christina Hendricks for bringing Joan Holloway and her gorgeous curves into our lives, and back into the mainstream popular culture. While she likes her dresses snug, we heard from someone who used to share her clothes that she's most certainly a size 10. And on a scale of 1 to 10, a 10.

B.) --Missy Eliot is no longer a "normal sized" woman... by ditching the trash-bag getup from her beauitul "I can't stand the rain" video.... do you mean - ditching all those horrid pounds that made her a "normal" sized woman.

Also ... consider Amanda Palmer > Dresden Dolls singer now solo... I believe she's around 10 or 12, if not she's just as good as some of the other ladies on here (too thin still)

I've been fat all my life and utterly disgusted by it. I finally realized being fat is the worst thing that can happen to a woman in the whole wide world and made the decision of getting the gastric balloon. No face is pretty enough to take attention away from the body lard.

Girls you can get a bypass or a balloon...being fat hurts too much even if 1 website in all the internet makes a surreal list like this...

I'm a male who has no idea what a size 10 is, but I do think the popular definition of beautiful doesn't cover the range of what I would consider attractive. I'm surprised that Camryn Manheim, Jill Scott, Oprah and America Ferrera are missing from the list. There are lots of curvier women like Monica Bellucci, Leah Remini, Salma Hayek, and Bitty Schram who I think are way more attractive than the skinny, high-fashion model types. Rene Zellwegger never looked more attractive than in Nurse Betty. I think Hooksexup should do an annual list of this sort, and, daily, push "beautiful" towards the "normal" sized. After all, isn't this the nervy think to do?

I second Nancy Jane Moore. Why are you calling this a size 10 and above list when 9 of these women aren't even close to a 10? At least 5 are into plus sizes, meaning size 18 or more. Nigella and Christine have got to be at the least 12-14. You really think Nigella has a size 6 waste? Are you kidding me? That picture looks like a size 16. I love the lady but come on here, size 10 is pretty thin for most women. I wore a 10 in high school and was a little stick. I'm now between a 10 and 12 and still way thinner than those two. I'm not super tall either, just under 5'7".

The only women who fit into less than size 8 or less have usually never been athletic and therefore do not have a muscular frame. Just by lifting weights and doing anything that builds muscles will easily put you into the 10 category even if very thin, or just having a c cup or more. If you have broad shoulders or long arms, that pretty much automatically qualifies you for a size 12 suit coat, which is where I'm at. I have to buy separates, 12 coat and 6 or 8 pant. But when it comes to dresses, those same broad shoulders and boobs make you a 10-12 easily in the bodice regardless of waistline.

I love Christine but unless she's 5'2" there is no way she is a size 10 with her measurements. A more realistic size 10 is Brooke Shields or Tyra Banks. Just call it what it is, a plus size list.

Only 2 or 3 of these women are "normal" sized. I am not trying to be disrespectful, I am trying to be fair and helpful to young girls who will read this blog and be influenced by it. Some of these women are overweight, not "normal sized", and if they don't have health issues now they certainly will later in their lives. I strongly support loving one's own body, but being overweight leads to serious problems.
Also, if a man were to get to the size of some of these women, they would certainly be labeled "overweight". The movement to encourage confidence in body image for women might be going to far if people are putting up blogs that mistake "being normal" with on the verge of being obsese.

ET: I disagree. Men who have extra pounds on them very rarely get harassed about it unless they are obese. Most of the women on this list are NOT overweight... at least not by much. Assuming they will have health issues later isn't necessarily true. Diet and exercise is important, regardless of size, although of course that factors in as well. If these women are eating well and exercising (and they probably are because they are in Hollywood), they are healthy.
