Anyone who saw The King of Kong last summer — and if you didn't, you owe it to yourself to correct the oversight — will understand the appeal of meeting Walter Day, the bearded, guitar-slinging gent who runs videogame world-records emporium Twin Galaxies. (Hit the jump for a priceless clip, if you need a refresher.)
This weekend, you can make your Walter Day fantasies (he is good at Centipede, ladies) come true, by attending the 10th Annual International Classic Video Game & Pinball Tournament, sponsored by Guinness World Records, at the nation's biggest arcade — Laconia, NH's own Funspot Family Entertainment Center. Day's running a Stargate/Defender contest, so we know he'll be present, but we're betting you could catch a glimpse of other King of Kong luminaries like Steve Wiebe, Billy Mitchell and the inimitable Brian Kuh, if he hasn't gone into hiding since the movie came out. Roy "Mr. Awesome" Shildt will probably not be there.
For our loyal readers, here's a special bonus clip of Steve Wiebe reminding you not to talk during the movie. Bless that man.
