At the risk of geeking out about the smallest bit of game-design tweaking... wait, what am I talking about? That's our whole raison d'etre here at 61FPS. So I'm happy to report on the latest announced feature in the long-awaited Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix: a training mode where you can see the characters' "hitboxes" — the areas of the characters that deal and receive damage in any given frame. Granted, you have to be a serious Street Fighter nerd to appreciate this, but since I am one, it's pretty awesome to see what's essentially the long-hidden "skeleton" of the game. Plus, it's a neat visual representation of which moves work in which situations — a great training tool indeed. If I'd had access to this stuff in fourth grade, I might've avoided that black day when I lost to M. Bison sixty-three times in a row, working myself into such a froth of teary outrage that I then went downstairs and barfed. (On the other hand, I might never have become a videogame blogger without that borderline-Faulknerian primal trauma. Discuss.)
